I have always enjoy travelling and had make it a point to travel at least once a year, no matter where the destination is. However since I got married and with darling Keane coming to my life, I have not travelled. There are so much to be concerned about...
Now that baby is already past 1 year of age, flying with baby should be less of a hassle... But even if it is, I believe all is worth it. Hence we will be flying to Shenzhen and Hong Kong in 20 days time (26th March). I really look forward to broaden Keane's horizon, near and far...
Pack at least two weeks ahead and keep your list in a prominent spot. Choose a bag with a waterproof lining and wide shoulder straps.
Keep baby happy onboard with these:
Bibs
Bottle of water. Take 1.5 litres of bottled water. (no need formula as I'm still nursing him )
Bottled baby food or boxed cereal
Feeding spoon
Face cloths
Disposable diapers, baby wipes, Drapolene, tissue, cotton wool and zip-lock bags (for soiled clothes). This way, I don’t have to take my entire knapsack and baby into the tiny loo.
Two changes of shirt and pants (cotton separates is best for easy changing), in case of spills etc. They also help baby “layer up” if it gets too cold.
Baby wrap or blanket, for comfort, to keep warm.
A bag of treats like biscuits, toys or books to distract her. Recommended: anything shiny, mirrors, rattles, light-up musical toys and soft cuddlies.
Baby carrier. It also leaves my hands free for luggage.
A lightweight stroller. (see how...)
Medicines, especially infant paracetamol for pain and fever relief. Also consider a colic treatment, saline nose drops for stuffy noses and teething gel.
Extra shirt or cardigan for myself and hubby.
A muesli bar and some packed snacks. In case we do not get the chance to eat airline meal.
A camera, to capture memorable travel moments with baby, especially this is our first time travelling as a family!
