1st May... In-laws, eldest sis, 2nd sis and hubby came in the afternoon. We had dinner at TM Bali Thai. Bro and wife (3rd sis) came too. Keane enjoyed the attention given to him!
He was over-stimulated by the time we reached home... So much so that we had a terrible time putting him to sleep! He cried the moment lights went out. He insisted on leaving the bedroom. We were mad. We scolded him. He cried. It broke my heart to see him cry so hard... :( I cannot give in... It is way pass his bed time and he must sleep! But I gave in in the end... I showed him his videos in my handphone... I hugged him... sang him a song... revised his body parts... And suddenly... He kissed me! Innocently, he said," Neh Neh!" (meaning he wants milk) I quickly latched him on, and he fell asleep after that... (So cute!)
Sighz... Many months back, we had strict routine for him. He will definitely sleep at 7 pm without any problems. However, as he grows older, and due to meetings or family gatherings held in the night etc, I decided to let him stay up a little longer... A wrong decision!! His sleeping habits went hay-wired! Not only does he wakes up later than usual, he also no longer 'guai guai' goes to sleep when I tucked him in. Almost every night after nursing, he will sit on my tummy and shake! I will obliged by shaking and singing Row Row Row Your Boat, with him still on top of me... (WRONG of me to shake!) Sometimes I was so exhausted that I fell asleep before he does!
After tonight's screaming and crying, I told hubby that we had to stick back to his routine by next week (perhaps go to bed by 8 or 8.30 pm). Good sleeping habits is very important for a baby's growth! At his age now, Keane needs 14 hours of sleep. Upon calculation, he seriously lack it! And so do I! I don't have enough sleep myself! Okkk, now that I had finished marking my students' homeworks and ranting here, I have to go to bed this very minute! Good night! Errrr, I mean Good Morning!
