"The World of Eric Carle" , the 4 days Holiday Programme (9th Dec to 12th Dec) , had come to an end today!
I believe darling Keane will miss going to class and I will definitely have to start planning activities again to keep Keane occupied during the remaining holiday!
Keane was very grouchy on the 1st day and I took no pictures at all. He refused to return the stuffs when Teacher Noreen wants them back, he yelled when it was time to stop painting and he pushed his friends! He also likes to fold and roll everything and anything, something his friends in his previous playgroup did! When I stopped him, he yelled, "I want!" Some parents told me that it's the "Terrible Twos" Syndrome, a stage where all 2 years old kids went through. Yeah I know, but that does not mean I just let him be and have his way, right? On our way home, Keane shouted and screamed and cried and pushed me! I tolerated and upon reaching home, I scolded and beat his bum bum. Thereafter, I told him that he ought to behave in the public and that I will not hesitate to punish him should he behaves like a spoilt brat. He nodded in tears. Of course, I also chanted for the wisdom and patience to handle such situations and for Keane to be sensible.
Keane behaved reasonably well for the rest of the days, both in class and in the public. I praised him for his good behaviour. He was happy! However, he still pushed his friends in class, though not as bad as the 1st day... You see, he's very small-sized and in order not to get knocked down by his bigger-sized friends and for the teacher to see him, he pushed his way through... I have to constantly remind him to queue and wait for his turn or say "Excuse me."
Eh... Back to the holiday programmes... Stories written by renowned children's author, Eric Carle, was told. The stories covered were The Grouchy Ladybug, Pancakes Pancakes, Rooster's Off To See The World, My Secret Birthday Message, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Panda Bear Panda Bear, What Do You See?
