Before going to Shenzhen, I did some research on the places to visit. I remember going to Shenzhen some years back with a tour group and it was not fun, giving me the impression that there is nothing much in Shenzhen... However, upon researching on the net, I found alot of nice places to go! Going on a free and easy tour is really much better, and all the more so if you have friends staying there!
Throughout our stay in Shenzhen, we stayed with Xuelian's family. We felt awkward initially and thought we had caused some inconvenience for them... However they were very accomodating and even got their 'auntie' to cook for us etc. We gradually got used to living with them.
Xuelian's daughter, Bollar, is a very adorable and sensible girl. She is always ready to share her toys and books with Keane, and even held Keane's hand both outside or at home. Xuelian and her hubby also shared with us about life in Shenzhen, and we had definitely gained a fair amount of insight about their living culture.
Besides Xuelian, Jingwen is another friend living in Shenzhen. She also accompanied us to sight-seeing etc. Unfortunately, due to time contraints, we did not manage to go to the fashion wholesale centre and some of the places as planned... :( But well, there's always another chance! Oh yes, her boyfriend Zengjian seems like a Mr Nice Guy. Sincerely hope that both of them will tie the knots soon! Do treasure him!
On the day of departure, sadness well forth in our hearts. We talked a little about how we felt on our way to the airport. Humans' emotions are really hard to comprehend; we may feel uneasy in the beginning, but when it's time to part, we just can't seem to let go...
Nevertheless, I believe this short trip had done us some good. At the very least, we felt recharged emotionally and physically. Life still goes on and it's now time to face squarely with life's challenges.
Gambatte!
PS: We took over a thousand pictures! Hence, it is not possible to load all the pictures here... But still, hope you guys will enjoy the pictures! :)
Xuelian brought us to OCT on our last day in Shenzhen. We took bus J1 and the journey took almost an hour. According to Xuelian, OCT is newly opened, about a year plus.
It is very big and beautiful! A wonderful blend of man-made and nature, modern and ancient!
It is really much better than HK Disneyland! However, there are some areas which are still under construction... and again due to time constraint, we did not manage to see all of it... Perhaps we'll re-visit the place when Keane is bigger!
Before I forgot, Tian Can is a must-see performance! Great show!
