At 7 pm, PD LCs gathered at Singapore Soka Association HQ to write notes of Hope and Encouragement to the children of Sichuan Earthquake.
This touching and memorable event was organised by Mercy Relief and SSA. Mercy Relief ambassador Stephanie Sun (singer) also came to support this event. On 1st October (Singapore Children's Day), she, together with Mercy Relief and SSA, will deliver the notes of Hope to the children in Sichuan, as well as help build schools/shelters for the children. I wonder if they know that 1st October is also China's National Day...
Although this event was a last minute thingy (we SAs received the news only yesterday afternoon), I must say it was pretty successful as many parents and LCs turned up to support this good cause. Too bad Keane is still young and can't write yet, else I'd have got him involved.
I was also thankful to hubby for taking care of Keane. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to help up in this event. Being a SA can be quite fulfilling at times, especially on events like this.
Unfortunately, just 15 minutes before the entire event ended, Keane was getting very restless and wanted only ME... Before I left, I took some pictures and passed my stuffs (colour pens etc) to another SA.
